    Default Vac. pics...from newbie

I took these on vacation to the Smokey Mountains. I didn't have a tripod so I know they aren't perfect but I was wanting some feedback on my compositon and anything else I may be missing out on. I'm new and this is my 1st attempt at waterfalls.
    Thanks
    Frank

I see nothing to complain about in terms of composition in those Bandit. I'm sure there was several ways to take those but the ones you are showing us look fine in that regard to me.

The frist one is a bit blown out in places which I guess is because you were going for the soft water look. In bright light that's not really a good option unless you have Neutral Density (ND) or Graduated Neutral Density (ND Grad) filters. Waiting until it's darker or simply catching the water with the faster shutter speed might have resulted in a better photo.

I find the composition pleasing, too.
First shot - I agree with MA. Very nice shot, a little bright.
    Second shot - loving it!
Third - aside from the obvious from lack of tripod, brightness is an issue again. But composition is nice!

it's only question of (my) taste, but I prefer the water as in the 3rd.
    All interesting and fine shots.

    Default thanks

Thanks so much for the replies. I liked the 1st one but I know how hard I worked to get that one. The second one was much easier to come by. This is the first time I've entered pics for others to evaluate and I really appreciate the response. Being new to this, it really helps to have opinions of others. Now I need to go and shoot more.
    Thanks once again.
