so I was out walking my dogs and I saw a grouse hen. I immediately put the dogs in a down and grabbed Belle's collar (she's not as obedient as she should be yet-still makes her own decisions). I was hoping the grab a shot of mama. She gave a warning call and then, suddenly there was flurry of feathers in front of me and this little one landed in the tree 5 feet from me and froze. I managed to get a few shots. I may take another shot at getting the eye sharper. I was hampered a bit by leaves and branches but did not want to scare him and end up with him getting lost from mama or hurt.

A little research showed that a baby grouse is a 'cheeper'.

Very cool catch Bambi. Don't often get to see Grouse chicks, as they usually stay quite well hidden.
