After our stroll around Fingal Head we moved up the coast only a few short k's ...

This is the big NS-EW monument in Tweed Heads over looking Flagstaff Beach/ Pt Danger

The view from next to the monument ... this is the beach where I took all those surfing shots ...

Down on the beach ... one of the many Cabbage Trees in the area

very nice set here MA - even though one of these things is not like the other, that one is my fave :D Love the imposing feel you've created there; fabulous framing! The tones in shot 6 (especially the tones on the people themselves) are also just beautiful. HDR is it? If not, can you describe the PP a bit?

Hey thanks everyone. Glad you like.

Marko ... yes shot 6 is an HDR (as is shot 3) ... I actually mentioned this above the photo because it's a bad HDR in my opinion but I really liked the scene.

Some amazing scenery there. Makes me want to break out a lawn chair! :)

I also love number one. Kinda reminds me of a tower you might see in an epic fantasy novel about an evil wizard or something.

Hmmm - why do you say that? (I'd love the technical answer)
Thx! M

:) Iggy ... you must be a Lord of the Rings fan or something!

Marko ... first of all it's a landscape scene that is obviously HDR, something I personally try to avoid these days. I prefer my landscape HDR's to look more like shot 3. In this case it has lost some of the shadows I'd have liked to keep.
2ndly, I didn't have my tripod on me so it was shot handheld and the lack of sharpness bothers me.
3rdly I think it required more than 3 frames to cover more stops as it has resulted in a strange pink/apricot cast across the central section.

I'd have tossed this one had it not been for Chantelle walking on the rocks near the two little girls.

I really like the first shot. You may turn me into a fan of black and white. The interesting rocks - looks like that translates to, "walk on me, lose shoes, maybe a bit of blood". :headslap: And cabbage trees? Why are they called that?

Just looked them up ... searched for Pandanas Trees as I thought they were those but always heard people call them Cabbage trees. Seems they are in fact Pandanas and are incorrectly called Cabbage trees.
