It's that time again!

My suggestions for July:

Show us examples of:
Weather
Perspective and leading lines
Transportation
Minimalism

I like
- Perspective and leading lines
- Beginnings and/or endings
- Yellow

Out of what's been said so far, I like:

- Perspective and leading lines

Out of what's been said so far, I like:

- Perspective and leading lines

me too.
can I throw out the 20 steps from your door idea again?

How about just take a bloody shot! Ugh..someone smack me on the side of the head!

How about just take a bloody shot! Ugh..someone smack me on the side of the head!

well you've been a wee bit busy. how about a hug instead? :grouphug:

How about just take a bloody shot! Ugh..someone smack me on the side of the head!

Someone needs a coffee or a beer! :)

Perspective or 20 steps works for me.

Since the weather is warmer and people are out more, why not try for a collective 100 strangers? Based on the website http://www.100strangers.com/. We collectively try to accumulate photos of 100 strangers. It would be cool if we had a least a minimum of info about them to include with the post, even if it is only why we found them interesting.

That's a very cool idea! I think it would work better as a project than as an assignment though. An entire thread dedicated to this type of project would be cool. Do you mind if I start it? While I don't know the man I have that image "Alone" that I posted yesterday that might be a good start.

Ok, go ahead and start it, that would be excellent, then each poster should number their submission as we go along.

Ok members - suggestion posts merged and the assignment with the most support this month is Perspective and/or Leading lines . This means that the image should have an interesting perspective and/or include leading lines.

Ok then - who will post first?!
Thx - Marko

As they were going under the bridge I was standing on. Would've liked the one almost under, but it didn't turn out. As I was editing I couldn't help thinking, "Damn, that front paddler is ripped".

No matter what I do though some sort of wildlife has to come along and ruin my shot,
Actually was shooting for this assignment and they just sauntered across.

Both nice posts QD - especially post #25- love it.!:highfive:
Just as an FYI - there's no hard and fast rule about the assignments, but most members choose not to use old shots. The assignment is meant to get people out there shooting.. but like I said - no hard and fast rules.

I've done a lot with this type of photography over the years, especially for classes and such since it's basically photo 101 and works tremendously well. Here's one from a recent trip to Seattle -

Speaking of power lines...

The water to the right is the Snake river. Broad, fairly deep, favorite of serious fishers with specialized fishing boats. Capable of landing float planes - Mike says he's seen them land more than once.

I like the leading lines in this picture however this was difficult for me to get a quality picture of it.

- the top of the stairs is way brighter than the bottom. For example at the bottom it was 1/8 exposure and at the top it was 1/500 sec.
- I tried a 5 picture HDR and this is what I got.

There are two main problems

- the colour (or color if you choose) balance is different as well. The top of the stairs gets sunlight from the outside and made everything there blue. The rest of the stairs gets indoor light. It became impossibe for me to do this picture in colour.
- I therfore converted to B&W however I can't get any snap to the picture. It appears wishy washy. I suppose this is partly due to the HDR (I'm new to HDR)

I will try this another time in the future when there is no competing sunlight from outside.
