Hello from a far

Hello all I am in a little place called Diego Garcia (No the Transformers are not here). I am just starting out in photography. I am shooting with a Canon XS. I just have the kit lens and a 75 - 300mm 4-5.6 lens. This is a beautiful island however it is an island so things get pretty boring to see and shoot. I am always looking for advice on how to improve and what equipment and skills can get me there. I really like to shoot landscape but I am playing with other things as well. I will be on this island for about 11 more months then I will be going to Box Elder, SD. Well that is pretty much it about me. Welcome to the forum! You have some cool shots in your Flickr stream. The best way to get a critique is to pick a single particular shot and post it in the critiques forum. It's much easier to critique images one at a time. :) Cheers and nice to meet you.
