I need to find out how to add scratches and stuff with Photoshop. And how to do those cool borders that I see around here. Someone please clue me in?

I like the treatment here Matt. For old looking stuff I use Silver Efex presets and for borders I use Picnic in Flickr. :)

Cool image, Matt! There is an explanation on how to use the cookie cutter tool to make a grunge style border in Photoshop Elelments here:

It also explains how to use the drop shadow effect.

For a simple border in Photoshop Elements from the top of the page select image > resize > canvas size.

I believe the scratches jimmy uses are a texture but he would have to confirm that. There are free textures available in flickr just by using their search engine. One or more "texture images" can be layered on top of an image and their opacity adjusted. You can also use variables such as lighten or multiply to get different effects.

its a nice image to work on; even its looking so conjusted, you can use Silver Efex as proposed by another member to add few scratches
