I used a Brush Stroke effect on the surrounding environment of this Tom Thomson statue. The idea is to show how Tom might see the world. I left some of the stone path as shot to invite your eye up to the statue.
Any thoughts??

hey - that looks pretty good! that brush stroke effect is pretty finiky (sp?) and rarely seems to have a decent look, but the flowers and colors really work here! and i love the composition - the 2 bunches of brightly colored flowers and the pathway are good compliments to the statue. i like the detail in the closer crop.

I quite like the painterly effect of the background especially in shot 2.
I think I would have liked to see the statue perfectly sharp and unpainted.
How big is this statue in real life?

The statue is unpainted.... I masked a layer overtop the original image and converted it to brush stroke... then I erased the brush stroke on the statue and stone leading up to the statue...
I will post the original image when I get home so you can see...
I think the statue is slightly larger than life size...
