The Army Cadets are a youth program for any one that I between the ages of 12 and 18 (they age out on their 19th birthday) This program is supported by the Canadian Forces the Army Cadet League and the Royal Canadian Legion. There is absolutely no cost to the Cadet. This money is supervised by the parents advisory committee that each Corps has. It’s the best kept secret in Canada as far as youth programs go. The following photos were taken with my point and shoot FUJIFILM S1000 Finepix camera. It was slow in reacting to my trigger finger sometimes but it has a good lens.

Location Mewata Armoury Calgary 24 March 2010 around noon. The sun was coming into the south window of the Armoury and it made for some interesting effects and shadows.

The occasion was the annual St. Julien day parade. The Cadets from four different Corps participated with the Regular unit of the Calgary Highlanders.

Very Cool! My son too is a cadet in Barrie with the foresters. He will be at base Borden for the summer. This is the best thing for kids as it teaches them discipline and life skills that will follow them through their lives.

Interesting set. I kinda like the "wonky" angle on the last one.
