A few shots from above as we headed for Tasmania last Friday.

Leaving Brisbane. This is looking west over the southern part of the city ...

Leaving mainland Australia as we fly over the coastline of Victoria ...

Flinders Island which one of several large islands just above Tasmania.

Cleared for Landing. Here we are flying over Seven Mile Beach about to swing around and land at Hobart Airport at the far end of the beach.
Mt Wellington is the big lump in the distance and the city of Hobart is tucked away under it just over the range at the far of the beach also.

Lol, cool shots, M.A. It's been Stampede so I missed quite a bit of stuff lately.

Thanks JAS.

I am just cruising the forums for missed threads ... seems a lot of us have been busy lately I think. I know I have but I'm crook at home so I'm trolling for missed gems. ;)

Yeh, as I said ... I think a lot of the regulars here have been busy lately. We need more regulars ;)

Crook means to be sick as in with a cold or flu etc. Also it can mean to be sick as in twisted, weird. A crook deal is a deal that is bad value etc.

I meant I have a cold.

Hope you get well soon. Man, you have flooded the forum with your Tassie pics, each one more interesting than the next. Those sunrises are spectacular. And the reflection night shots are lovely. The shot with the rising moon, http://www.photography.ca/Forums/f11/moon-bay-10747.html is sensational. I love the bluish tinge. It's my favorite.
Thanks for sharing all your hard work. There might be something about cold weather that brings out the best in photographers. Perhaps you should consider moving to Canada. Just kidding.
Thanks for taking time to bring threads that didn't get many replies back to the current posts. I haven't been around much lately but will be on vacation in August so plan to do more commenting and posting.
Take care.
Mike

Your photo of Flinders Island sent me to Google. I'm used to seeing maps of Australia with just Tasmania in the south, and of course island nations tend to have a bunch of little islands that anyone who isn't local probably hasn't heard of.

The things you learn on this forum.

Oh, and I especially like the coastline pictures - the thin line is so delicate from that height.

Cool Q1. It's always nice to know someone found something interesting in my photos :)
