got up a little earlier than usual on a Sunday morning and was blessed with quite a bit of dew on the ground, and on things protruding from the ground. So I took some images

And finally the ol' dandelion ....

I LOVE that first shot! :D The big droplet right in the middle is perfect. 2-4 have good colour, and the last is also a winner, IMO :)

As MA and Gem said - great shots. And I like the first and the last also very much. Wonderful sharp drops.

I am not sure why, but drops on plants is such an attractive subject! good work Matt. I love the detail in all.

#1 is killer IMO! Can you educate me on gear, settings and execution of this shot?

First of all, thank you all for the kind words :goodvibes

Nikon D5000
Sigma 150mm f2.8 macro lens
tripod (ummm .. if you must know: Feisol + Feisol Head)
ISO 200
f 9
1/250
no flash

took the same shot with several settings, this on turned out the best. also tried it at the same ISO with

f4.5 - 1/800 .... very shallow DOF and
f16 - 1/60 ... nice DOF, but not a good bokeh

Thanks again, all :o

I quite like #2 (blue flower) - the subdued light is perfect as is the focal poing. Well done.
