Iggy I will pick your jaw off the floor if you pick up mine.

Holy  Excellent photo! These guys are so painfully shy that I appreciate how great of capture this is. You nailed the movement perfectly.
Very, very well done! :highfive:
PS....welcome. :)

my jaw is hanging too!
welcome to the forum. I am looking forward to seeing more.

Just out of curiousity: were you in the reeds as well? I am picturing you in rubber boots with reeds glued to a hat gliding through the swamp

I was actually drifting slowly towards it, I shot this with only the 70-200 on an FX body so I had to get in fairly close.

Just a note on the Iris's...they are considered an invasive species here and we are encouraged to tear them out! Apparently they have very wide stems at the bottom making it difficult for tiny creatures to get past and make them easy prey. Unlike the native cat-tails they can wiggle through.

Beautiful capture BCRose. Very sharp and natural setting.
Makes sense with the Irises. Are they getting out of control in some areas, or is this just a problem in its infancy, as of yet?

I believe it is a fairly new issue. I do not seem these in abundance.
