Hello. I am an amateur photographer that makes a few dollars here and there from lifestyle photography and I am expanding into the professional sphere of photography.

I am a graphic designer by trade and I try to expand my artistic pursuits into areas that further my skills as a designer and graphic artist. I used an SLR all through high school. I currently use a Sony a200 DSLR. I got it because I haven't taken a picture in a decade and I wanted to see if I still liked it... yep. I love it again and people want to give me money to take their pictures.

I also have a Brownie Starflash and an Argus C3 that I got back in high school when I had my old SLR. I got the Sony because my old SLR was a Minolta.

I am looking for places to network with other photographers for the most part. I am very experienced with photoshop (as a graphic designer) but I find sometimes I over edit pictures, ending up too soft or digital. I would like to share techniques with others as far as photoshop editing goes.

Yeah, I found this place from the podcast. I listen to it at work when I am designing the newspaper... I decided to come on over and see what kind of community the place had to offer. Places like deviant art are not for me, its like everyone scrambling to post "good job" for the comment hit back to their work. I just want to have a place to sit down and talk about pictures and not post "Good job" in a comment.

So far, it has been good after digging around and reading posts for a few hours.
