It's a well done pano shot but I'm missing the focal point. I wonder if it would be better larger??

I like it just the way it is .. nicely done.

Nice still water ... looks very peaceful.

You can see it bigger in her Flickr album Iggy.

Man that is smooth water.

No, actually, you can't. On Flickr it's even smaller and the All Sizes link is not available. :(

Well they are to me Ig. I saw one that was 1300 -ish pixels wide.

Maybe try and click on this one http://www.flickr.com/photos/bambe1964/4825582898/sizes/o/ until your eyes get back from where ever they are Ig ;)

oh dear! I am sorry that you can't see it big Iggy. Flickr was acting weird for me yesterday so maybe it's your turn?

I get what you are saying about the lack of focal point, I was trying to capture how quiet and peaceful the harbour was that morning. It's not often that it's so smooth.

Thanks for the comments everyone! :thankyou:

I didn't have trouble with a focal point myself ... the still water and overcast conditions just seem to set a quiet, relaxing feeling in motion.

Please don't get me wrong. I like the shot. The reflections and colours are very beautiful. I just can't find a spot to rest my eye.

As for the larger size one on Flickr. You must be a better friend than I am because I still can't see it for some reason. :(

When I try the link you posted, M.A., I get a "You don't have permission to view this page". :(

seriously I haven't banned you or anything! I wonder what's going on. You could try right clicking on the photo in the thread and selecting 'view photo'.

and I'm okay that you don't love ALL of my shots ;)

Maybe it's just Flickr crap? Would you mind double checking your security settings? Do you have MA listed as a friend and me as just a contact? Maybe that's the difference?

Don't worry, I'd tell you, politely of course, if I didn't like it.

I can see Large (1024 x 271) on flickr which seems to be the same size as in the post.

I see what iggy is saying about the focal point, and I agree that a better defined focal point would make this shot even stronger. That said, panos for me are slightly different and the lack of a well defined focal point is not bothering me much here. It is still a very strong image; nice exposure, colour!
