I don't do much B&W work so please feel free to give me some tips.

Did you shoot in monochrome, or did you jsut convert? Seems to me that all images record in colour, then the camera can be set to ignore the color information, or you can convert it to b&w later.

This image works well for me. I think you have captured it well; maybe a bit more contrast would help, but then again, the subject is a "soft" subject, so overall one may even want to have it appear soft i the finish as well.

Only thing that bugs me about this image is the branch in the foreground ...

I wonder if the reason you haven't seen many replies here is that there isn't much to work with. I think this scene is simply too dull to do much with. Perhaps you could try an interesting angle, shoot the statue as a silhouette, catch the scene in interesting lighting, shoot it with the moon behind, or something like that. I think you could make this really lovely with a little "sometihng" added to it.

Thanks, Matt.

I really kind of liked the out of focus branch in the foreground. Felt like I was peeking into the garden of eden or something. I guess we all just like different things :)

Thanks, I.P.

I'll go back and visit again and see what I can see.

I'm with Matt K here iggy - Branch is a distraction. If it were part of a framing element, it would work but it just slices the image diagonally.
Other things to consider, even if the object is inanimate, generally, if it has eyes, focus on them :) Contrast could also be upped here a bit imo.
Hope that helps - Marko
