Some are film, some are digital.

Hi Scotpet,
it's hard to critique a set of images but here are my 2 cents::twocents:
in all of them the focus looks a bit soft- but that could be compression in the upload. I find resizing the photos to 1076 x 7-something or other works well to retain the sharpness.
#1. interesting subject. I do wonder what the colour would look like but B&W works too. I would crop it bit closer to get rid of the ferns and I would be boosting the contrast a bit
#2. nice car. I can't figure out what the wires are sticking out from under the hood. Again I would boost the contrast and dodge the front of the car as well. I am not sure about taking it in the middle of the headlights, perhaps taking a step to the right or left?
#3. cute dog(I love dogs) but I wish that eye was sharper and the ear wasn't cut off.
#4. love the light on the barrel and the colours- green, grey, rust with golden light. But not sure about the angle of this photo. maybe from lower down would excite more visual interest?
#5. my fav of the set. I like the angle and perspective here. B&W totally works for this subject too. it's too bad about the car in the background but you can't always control what's around. However, if you got even lower then you may be able to hide the car and get in the bumper.

I hope that this was helpful. there are others with far more expertise who can give some excellent advice. :)

Bambi gives an excellent critique. First thing I notice is that every shot is soft, except shot 4.
Shot 1 is the exception, it's not soft but the focal point was missed. The boat should be sharper than the wall.

Not sure if compression is an issue here - please make sure that all photos that are uploaded directly are LESS that 250K.

Hope that helps - Marko
