These are also closely related to the Warblers and somewhat smaller than lots of them. Never got a chance to get them with their "crowns" showing.

Great catch! .... I find these tiny little flittering guys to be about the most difficult birds to shoot and they sure do like to hide their rubies . :)
I love #1 , what a lovely perch ... and you have caught really neat pose in #2 .

Unfortunately we are still plugging away at reno's as we had an illness in family and had to do some caregiving for quite some time.
Pretty much done though and still hoping to move soon. We really love where we are, just the local area is getting too "busy" for us. I guess we are just old-fashioned stuck in the 1800's types. The place we have now is 50 acres of our own with access to 100's of acres of bush, on dead-end rd., but still not secluded enough. We are looking to move to 160 acre property approx. 2 hrs. away from any major cities.
How is your new ranch coming along?

Lovely shots. These live around here, too, but I've never seen one. Yesterday though I identified a bird I only saw for a fleeting second a couple weeks ago. It's a yellow-rumped warbler and it loves the suet. Too skitty for a feeder shot though.

Aw, too bad about the delays. I hope things worked out okay for the family member. :(
Our ranch is proceeding slowly. No bites on the house but some lookers so I keep my fingers crossed. In the meantime we are renovating the bathroom and kitchen so we can move in and not have to deal with it then. :) Mine will not be as secluded as yours but that's okay. It will work for us.
