I think I'm close to tweaking the d300 to where it needs to live for my wildlife stuff. This was shot at 800 ISO and I always seem to worry with the APS-C sensor that I'm going to get noise and though there is some noise, overall, I'm OK with it. Hi ISO noise filter is set to high in camera menu.

Beautiful shot! I really like the out of focus sprig of colourful leaves and the pastel background ... Gives it an artsy look .
The wee bit of noise looks just fine to me . :)

Another nice Chickadee shot, on a perfect perch, and it seems you are adapting well to the new equipment Michael.
