So the Piscataquog River is one of my favorites. The name translates to 'the great deer place'. It's very photogenic and an important part of the Merrimack River basin in terms of surface water and drainage. Alas it is dammed from time to time as an effort to control flooding after hurricanes. The one in 1938 was intensely powerful and did immense damage. The Piscataquog overran its banks and raged out of control and so almost 30 years later the Hopkinton-Everett Dam was built. It creates a lake that is a popular summer destination. Here are a few shots from yesterday -

I like the sort of steampunk medieval feeling of it in the landscape. The foliage is past peak, but I like the golden glow of it.

That third one with the autumn colours in full swing is excellent WD. :)

Looks like an awsome spot! I really like the 2nd one as it shows more and not guessing what that "tower" belongs to.

Thanks Richard. It should last a few more days, but not much more. November is not foliage season.

The colours (colors for WD) are amazing in the last one. I love it.
