So someone launches a rather substantial missile 100 miles off the coast of L.A. and no one seems to have any idea. The Pentagon, DOD, Norad...All clueless. However, it's not a threat to the security of the US? How does one know this if one doesn't even know who originated the launch? I'm just gonna put this one in my bag of funny business! In the wake of severe terrorist attack on US soil, one would think a story like this would wreak havoc within workings of America especially since it happened roughly fourteen hours ago! While coverage of the story seems lame at best, I've yet to see anyone ask where the darned thing ended up? My guess is maybe we just had a big Oooops! of the coast of L.A.

So it's now a possible "Jet contrail"? I've seen a few of those in my time but I don't recall them being so thick as the one shown in the video, I mean that's one serious contrail. Then again the speed of the object doesn't seem consistent with a missile either so it's anybodies guess. Interesting stuff (to me) nonetheless.:)

The contrail really spreads very quickly, my years working at the airport I haven't seen it spread like that or curl..if you know what I mean. I have no clue what it is..but one would think they would figure it out pretty quick.

I'm at a loss to explain it. What my brain has recorded from experience and what my eyes perceive in the video somehow don't mesh well but I guess one can't say with certainty that it was in fact a missile. Just the amount of exhaust from whatever it was seemed "unjetlike" to me. The DOD, NORAD, Air force and Navy have been looking at the same footage for going on 24 hours and it has apparently not been easy (even at that level of supposed expertise) to just come out early on and say "It's just a jet!" I was leaning toward the missile theory but the speed was bugging me:)

If that's a contrail I'll eat my remote. There's definitely some funny business going on there. The angle is all wrong plus you can see a bright spot just where the engine flame would be.

I'm with you on the remote chowdown Iggy. The visual information fed through the filter of being alive for 55 years says "That is no contrail from a jet". I've been following this since early this morning and there's been some pretty adamant pushing for the jet idea from some fairly heavy hitters which keeps me going back to the footage and my sensory department just won't get on board! The most interesting idea that I'm aware of is basically the MUM from the pentagon will say a while out that they've confirmed a missile strike attempt from Iran/north Korea which escalates the gibberish. I'm not buying the jet contrail bit though or the idea that this will lead to some idea of a US strike based on some intelligence manipulation.

I could see a North Korea test or warning in this though. Kinda public but if you want to show North Korea how exposed and weak they may be, launch from the US and land in Pyongyang ;) Or maybe some tech just screwed up and they're trying to hide it :) Who knows, I'm sure we'll never know the true story.

Hey! This lady has it all figured out! - Pleideans shot down U.S. mystery missile attack on Iran - Boing Boing (http://www.boingboing.net/2010/11/09/pleideans-shot-down.html)

I just knew the freakin Pleideans were behind this! We have to get rid of them post haste. Then, when they're all grovelling in the ditch, we MUST gather money! Whatever it takes to get this woman back on her meds!

I've seen her in another video where she was warning "Obama"not to test her! I was going to post for giggles but when I went back to youtube the link was 404'd. I'm still viewing it as a missile but even the pentagon has gone with an aircraft and I have to admit their evidence is compelling. It was a flight from Honolulu to phoenix and was filmed the next day with similar results. The end result for me is another moment where I could have called it if I'd been there type of scene. I still find it hard to mesh the guy who shot it remarks where he said he knew the difference between a missile and a jet contrail and in the end I thought I did too! Many people ( and it had a large following) are going to interpret the pentagons line as... Well, no mater what! they're lying to cover up something they don't want us to know. The internet has opened the floor to anyone with a keyboard and a connection, that dynamic is bound to go sideways at times and that is a colorful picture in its own right. I'm slightly disturbed that many high up departments in the USA took so long to resolve the problem and in the end defaulted to a meteorologists conclusion, just can't see them as being that sloppy. At the end of the day, I'm betting on the plane theory but I can't get the damned missile contrail image out of my head :headslap:

Yeah, sure, and it was just a weather balloon at Roswell :)
