Actually ... he wasn't crabby at all ... seemed quite relaxed really.
This was a good size fella ... about 50mm across the carapace so a full handful if you were game.

Yeh ... I wouldn't be picking that one up!

He looks pretty angry. You weren't poking him with a stick, were you MA?? ;)

I like how the legs go off the frame - almost makes it seem like he's gonna pop right out of the screen!

Thanks Gem. A little trick I like to do now and then is create that look that the subject is coming out of the frame :)

I wasn't poking him ... I was on a boardwalk about 1 1/2 metres above him.

He certainly does have a serious air about him. Love that dotted pattern on his side, that's very cool. Great capture, MA.

Nice catch, photographically and .... you didn't say the you actually caught this guy. If you did then ...nice catch that way too.
He may be quiet for now but it is probably the lull before the storm. He does have that crabby look to him.
That dotted patten on his side is very interesting. It has the appearance of a wire mesh. I think this makes him look even more menacing.

I definitely left him alone. I'm not a crab person. :)
