I am in Sydney (NS) about 5.5 hours drive from my home. Because of the distance I take Ed's car because it get's better mileage then the SUV. I finish up a little early today and decide to drive out to Louisburg. There's a high wind today and I figure that the waves will be awesome around the lighthouse.

Half-way there my console conks out. 'huh?' I think. I then brake and the car goes *clunk* I pull over and it *clunks* again and comes to a shuddering stop. on the side of the road. in the middle of no where. you may remember that this is the same vehicle that stranded me on the highway when the radiator hose sprung a leak.

Fortunately I have a cell service. CAA comes out and 'Earl' tows us back to Sydney. Earl thinks it's the alternator. And he knows a guy. He drops me at the hotel. I have an address as to where hubby's car is going but that's all. At this point I don't care. But I have to be home tomorrow because I'm flying to Swansea Mass Weds. For work.

So I am in the hotel room waiting for Earl or his 'guy' to call me. And tell me what's wrong. I phoned Ed and told him that I was coming home tomorrow if I have to rent a car and he can deal with this. :wall-an:

I know it's a bit 'Scarlet O'Hara-ish' but god is my witness I will never drive this car a long distance alone again :yell:

and I never got to Louisburg to take photos.

seriously this car only breaks down with me.

kinda takes the sting out.

Well I made it home. I have given Ed back his car keys and told him that never again will I take his vehicle on a journey that exceed 1.5 hours (or if he's away). so there!
