Hi everyone, it's been a while!

I had a question that I wanted to bounce off you guys. I am going to be showing around 20 photos at a local restaurant in January. I will probably do mostly 11x14s with maybe a couple larger ones. Originally I was just going to mat them and mount on them on foam core, which I did for a contest and a state fair. That was until I went in to the restaurant and saw how nice the current exhibit looked with nice thin black frames.

I don't know too much about the world of mounting, matting and framing. I was wondering if anyone has used MCS Format Frames in the past. They look nice and should fit my very limited budget, but my biggest concern with them is that they don't allow for more than a single weight mat board. This would mean just mounting the image on the backboard that is included with the frame. These photos will be for sale, so I want to make sure that this would be an "acceptable" way to display them.

Any experiences or advice any of you have would be most appreciated!

I think I know what you mean. They have the pop out glass in them and are loaded from the front. I have a couple at home and they are okay but they are plastic.
I have some photos on display at the Club and I used these seamless gallery style frames. The frame has no seams and they are very flat. They are about $40 each. They look very professional.

I'am currently displaying some of my work at the local library and I just used some cheap poster type black plastic frames from Wal-Mart that were 16x20 and then I used a black matting for my 11x14 size prints. Granted I don't have them for sale but I was trying to keep my costs done.

Thanks for the feedback Jacqueline and Rinkdaddy. Jacqueline, the pop out glass ones are the ones I was thinking about. If they weren't for sale, I would probably go with those, or the poster frames that you mentioned Rinkdaddy. I guess I am leaning toward something similar to the Framatics that you linked to. I like them since they come with a precut mat. Just out of curiosity, did you mount them on anything special or just the backing that comes with the frame?

Jason, I print on Hahnemule papers. I generally sign the back in pencil with my name, date, sometimes print number, and the printing info such as "printed on Hahnemule Fine Art Baryta using Canon Pigmented inks". I just mount it in the frame, nothing special. For gallery specific information Acadie Libre is most knowledgeable here I think.

Thanks! I was wondering about signing as well.
