So my family had three amazing days in Mexico, as you can imagine I was in awe, from the beauty of the place.
On day 4 which was christmass eve, we went ATV'ing in the mountains. My Dad and I where looking forward to getting some photos of the giant Cactus.

This is the valley we were in

We stopped by a village, and this is their 200 year old church

On the way back, I happened to look behind me and saw one of the ATV's flipping end over end down the road. It was my Step moms. I raced back to her, and she was on the ground screaming with a Giant cut on her upper arm. It went almost all the way around her whole arm and was acouple inches wide. She ended up laying on that mountain road for 2 hours before the ambulance got there, then it was anouther 2 hours drive back into San Jose.
My brother, Sister and I, ( while she was on the ground) ended up waiting farther up the road at a shrine the local ranchers had painted of the Virgin of Guadalupe.

we lit prayer candles and prayed that our mum wouldnt die, as the vultures circled overhead and the sun beat down.

After an hour or so of waiting around to hear what was happening, we wandered around the giant rock the virgin had been painted on and found this tree all the ranchers had carved

The Ambulance finally came and she was taken to a little hospital run by nuns. The cut in her arm was so deep the doctor could put his fingers all the way inside. he said the only thing that wasnt cut was her artery and nerve, everything else was, he said it was a miracle. She also has 3 broken ribs . My dad had to pay 40,000 for the air ambulance back to canada. were hoping the insurance will cover it, but we dont know yet.

Always get insurance and be very careful when in anouther country.
Im not a religious person, but someone was watching out for her that day

Thank goodness she wasn't hurt worse. Hopefully, the insurance will cover at least some of the flight. Even if it means you step-mom got the treatment she needed, it's no fun to pay out such a large sum of money.

She's back home now, and doing a bit better. Still no word about the insurance.
