I picked up a magazine with an artical on texture blending , so decided to give it another try ... After showing my efforts to my husband . He ask me why on earth I would want to mess up one of my perfectly good wildlife photos ... hence the Title ... I guess he's too much of a purist . He's turning into an old fuddy duddy

I used a free texture from playingwithbrushes . By taking a look at what people have created with that gals textures , it gave me a better understanding of what type of photos and textures mix together well .

I used an old leather book texture , that was in colour tones very much like my Fox photo and heres what I came up with ........

Thanks aubintbay :)

I'm not sure that I like that frilly metal clasp thingy on it or the edges of the book showing ... I think I will be redoing this without the metal thing and I'll make the texture layer the same shape as my photo .... I had to crop a bit off the right side of my photo to fit it on the leather book ... and I'm kinda missing that little bit of space .... I'm just learning how to do these , so it's all trail and error , but Im enjoying it .

I think I tend to agree with you on the metal clasp. Other than that I really like the texture processing you did.

Ohhhh - these purists. They never understand, that we just have to test all the options and all the trail and error is the fun for it ;-). I like your picture - the leather texture fits well.

Thankyou asnow :) Glad you agree... I'll defenately be reworking this one and getting rid of that clasp .

Thank you MoinMoin :) Yes it's fun and good to get into PP and start creating ... something I haven't been doing enough of for a long time .

I just did a quick cloning job to see how it looks without the Bling

I like the texture a lot! But then it is a very good photo on its own as well!

I'm not much for a lot of PP but I like this one. Makes it look like a painting... very cool and well done.

Thank you Bambi and Iggy :)
I usually don't do much to my photos . Infact I usually just use a little freebee editer called PhotoFiltre . It dosen't do much , so it's simple to use ... I got Elements 6 a few years back and gave up on because I found it so complicated because no user manual came in the box .... I have just picked up a couple of books on elements 6 and I have decieded to knuckle down and learn how to use it this winter . Learn how to use layers and all that stuff .

This image was actually not that hard to do ... I just layered one photo over the other one and used a blend mode and ajusted the opacity slider till I liked the effect .... Then I just done a bit of erasing so that the edges of my photo didn't show .... Only problem is .... I don't remember whitch blend mode ended up working  ... I pushed too many buttons to find one that worked  .... should have wrote it down .
