Hey all,
I intially thought this would fit the backlight assignment. Unfortunately, it also got some help from an artificial frontlight:headslap:. Anyways, what do you think?

I like it! I think the lighting makes the band stand out quite nicely.

I like the overall comp here; my biggest gripe is the lack of sharpness overall, but particularly the band leader.
What was your shutter speed here Yisehaq?

Thanks Iggy and Marko,

It was 1/1600, Fstop 4.5, ISO 400 and focused on the band leader. It seems a bit noisy after I coverted it to Jpg. The RAW file didn't look that bad.

I was just discussing this in another thread. This image is around 95KB and there is a comment in the JPG of "CREATOR: gd-jpeg v1.0 (using IJG JPEG v62), quality = 75" which indicates to me that you exported from Photoshop in whatever default settings they have to "export to web" or some such. This is causing the quality to drop a lot. Any PS/PSE users out there who can explain how people can export to web with a compression setting of 90% or 95% or even 100% and still keep the file size under 250KB?

My experience is;

I export from Lightroom with the settings of resize to 800 pixels long edge, 72 pixels/inch and rarely can I do it at 100% quality and keep the size under 250KB. It usually has to be somewhere between 70 and 90% to keep the size down. To get closer to 100% quality, the picture has to be smaller maybe 600 pxels long edge.
