A shot I got while on holiday in Denmark. Tried to get something else than the usual red sunset cliché. Btw, the white dots in the sky isn't artifacts, but some strange clouds.

Anyways, would love if I could get some feedback on the composition (everything else is of course welcome as well) :)

I really, really like this image. I like the blue against the brown. I like the composition as well.

I like it - I like the texture in the sand, and the people to give some personal touch. Perhaps it may have been worth going in closer and making more of the people.

Like you, I've got a million orange sunset shots, and though pretty, they are all pretty worthless. Adding the people in is one of the things that makes a difference.

(I hate that I can't see the picture while typing the feedback in the post form, makes critiques more of a memory test than a considered opinion :eek:)

I like this image as-is. The people give a sense of perspective to the image, and I think zooming/cropping to enlarge them would lose that. Good job on a different take on an oft-repeated subject.

I'm with Ben H here. I would have preferred moving in much closer to the people OR having the addition of something more prominent in the foreground to sink my eyes into.

FYI Ben - when I critique a photo I always have 2 windows open so I can look back and forth as i write.

Simply put a perpendicular camera angle to the beach and the horizon does NOT work visually. It creates a flat, visually dull scene. A better approach is get closer and shoot the beach, water and sky at an angle creating diagonals rather than straight lines, which is much more visually dynamic. Get the waves in the scene as well and look for verticals which aid perspective. If nothing is available, some photographers bring their own such as a chair or beach umbrella, even though it is sunset. :)
