The MacDonald bridge in Halifax. C&C please. I know it may look a little under exposed because I have the sun in front of me, but that was on purpose. :D

Hmmm... an image like this is a little difficult to effectively critique, because you obviously have something specific in mind (hence the exposure) but you've not told us any more about it. To be brutally honest, my overall impression is of an over-exposed snapshot. I think this is because of the extra elements, that is the cars and the trees. If it were just the bridgde on it's own, it might work.

You've made good use of the footpath to lead the eye into the image, but the main bridge pillars, which really should be the subject (IMO) are too far away, and curved away from the path. Have you tried shooting from the Halifax side? It seems to me that if you right down to the bottom of North Street, you might be able to get a bring one of the pillars closer into the image.

I think you've got an interesting idea, but perhaps haven't found the best execution.

Just my $00.02 worth - your mileage may vary.

(You've also got a wee spot of dust on your sensor, just below the sun).

A very thoughtful critique T.I - I agree.

My first instinct was that this was simple underexposure due to backlighting. You say that was your intent, so i'll give you the benefit of the doubt .But..., IMO the underexposure is a distraction here and the image would have been better served without it.
hope that helps - thx - marko

Agree with above, though I want to add is that what struck me the most is the composition. IMO, the sun is just annoying, adding an extra main element to the picture, making it harder to focus on the actual bridge. Next time, try to figure out what you actually want to take a picture of, and try to make all the parts in the picture work together to lead the eyes towards that point.

That's odd. The images are there. Anyone else having an issue?
