I live close to Mahone Bay and love to wander around there. It's quite a vibrant town with lots of history and lots going on in terms of the arts. This Christmas when I was walking around I took this photo:

last night at our photo club meeting our guest speaker was Gilbert van Ryckevorsel. He's an underwater photographer and local artist. His work is amazing. If you are interested here are two of his websites:
salmonphotos.com, Photography and Rock Art - Home (http://www.salmonphotos.com/)
Aqua-Abstract.com - Mysteries of the Ocean - Gilbert van RyckevorseL (http://www.aqua-abstract.com/artist.html)

He had some brochures and one was of sculptures he puts on his yard in the summer. I recognized the house- it was the one I took photos of! I am definitely going to his gallery this summer.

What a cool looking old house, Bambi. I hope you are feeling better and able to get out... weather's picking up +8 forecast for the weekend!

The Gilbert sites were interesting. Not much for the abstract stuff but I like nature.

it was fascinating to hear him explain how he gets the fish to trust him so that he can take his shots. He talked about putting a board in front of the jaws of a monkfish so it would bite that rather then his arm. That way he can get close enough to get the cool shots.
