Hi
I'm a wedding and portrait photographer from Derbyshire England, I trained on film early nineties and went over to digital about 2003 with my Eos 10d I now use a5d as back up and the mark2 5d as my main camera. My computer is an 8 core Mac Pro which is terrific in all respects and I'm thinking of buying the Macbook Pro so I can edit on location. Sadly business is not as it was, I used to do 80 weddings a year on film. now its maybe 35 seems everyone wants to be a photographer! I'm going to do more portraiture as my real advantage is I have a terrific studio. Hope you are all doing ok. Would be interested in knowing how things are accross the pond!

Welcome to the board. I admire anyone who has the patience to do weddings and portrait photography I just could not do it. I think the market for photography has gone a bit soft everywhere and since slr went dslr everyone thinks they are a photographer these days but I think in another couple of years those who can actually do it will still be here just like when everyone one did websites and now those who were real web developers are making the money an still in business. I do fine art and this year it has been a bit better for sales and would be even better if I was producing more and being a bit more aggresive but just an off year I am hoping. Anyway hope to see some of your work and you will find a great bunch here.
