Certain death if the human body rides on a train going 30MPH

I was just musing how people believe the Cern LHC will eventually destroy us and not that long ago it was felt certain the atom bomb would set off a chain reaction consuming the earth. while scooting around on the net with that in mind, seems there were grave concerns about the Stephenson rocket going at the incredible speed of thirty MPH. Today of course we honk angrily at the old hat wearing farmer who dares to slow us down to 30 hogging the road on his tractor:laughing:

Wow. Just Wow. It is hard to imagine that people actually thought like that. But the more I think about it, the more I realize that people still think like that, they've just changed the topics of their thoughts.
