The first successful microscape of the year. I scouted for a while before finding this one that not only had a nice mossy foreground, but had that tree behind and very cooperative sunlight. Stinky critters though.

While doing some reading about them, I found out skunk cabbage can bloom so early because its cellular respiration actually produces heat and can melt snow. Pretty cool.

Cool capture! Very nice. As for the smell, you know you gotta suffer for your art.

Very nicely done WD. Love the detail and lighting here. That little maroon reflection on the spiderweb coming off the tip really caught my eye also.

thanks ladies. the spider thread was a surprise that I only saw in post. At the time I was too busy worrying the light would go. 5 minutes later when we were back on the road, it was overcast. New England is such a joy.

thanks. I'm not in the I'm 3-inches tall groove yet, but I'll get there. Envisioning compositions from my regular height takes some getting used to.

I like the colors/marbling in the main part of the plant, and it's cool how the color from the spider web kinda matches one of the colors in the plant.

thanks Q1. I found there's a lot of variation in coloring depending on where the plant is. Some are more green-y yellow.

thanks girl. the microscape is something I particularly love doing so expect more of them once I get over this cold and can get out.
