Awesome link! I saw the PBS show that was actually about the incident he mentions where the crows recognize and remember faces and not only that but teach their children to recognize and remember them too. In Haida legend, raven is the trickster and many of their stories revolve around him. Since owning pet parrots, I have come to know how smart they are and each bird has his own distinct personality and preferences.

Oh, one comment about putting them to work, in general well treated animals love to work for their food or treats and in the case of Josh's crows learning to clean up a stadium for example, it would only be the first generation that would need to be trained, after that they would train each other.
