Just thought I would stop in and introduce myself, someone suggested that they joined a photography forum to help improve upon their photo's and I thought that was a good idea.
I have been in love with photography ever since I was very young, my mom and dad owned a photo processing store so I was able to take tons of photo's at no charge and just have fun with it.
I believe there is no such thing as a perfect photo..... because it seems that every time you take that "perfect photo" you find a way to improve the shot or you learn a new technique.
I am finding that I am learning by leaps and bounds in a very short amount of time.
with the help of my aunt and the loan of her rebel I was able to start into the DSLR set, shortly afterwards I managed to purchase a used EOS40D canon and a 50mm Canon lens. I have had a ton of support on my journey from tons of people and I just recently won the yearly photo contest:1st: in our local paper that earned me a $1000 gift cert to the camera store where I blew the whole wad on a single lens(Sigma 24-70mm F2.8 IF EX DG) brand new on the market to Sigma and I love it!
I've recently been diagnosed with some severe illness's and the photography is what is helping me cope, it keeps my spirits up and when the pain gets intense it gives me a distraction.
I also have a wonderful husband and a 2.5 year old son who I love very much.
Well.... thanks for having me and I look forward to seeing everyone's art.

Welcome to the forum. Sorry to hear of your illnesses. I think you will find the forum a good place to learn and just chit chat from time to time.

Welcome BzdegaPhotography! If our forum can help distract you, it's our pleasure.

I must disagree with you though on the no such thing as a perfect photo. I have seen many many photographs that I would call perfect (that meet my criteria for perfection). That said for me, I personally feel that I have very few perfect photos. I am confident enough in my skills that I can easily say that some of my photos are of high high quality, but perfect....not really even after 2 plus decades of shooting. I constantly find flaws in my own work (because I am hypercritical) even though many people including photographers won't notice them. At the end of the day, for me, it's the teeny details (according to the way that I personally evaluate my photographs) that keep photographs from perfection. This is total guesswork, but I might suggest a 1000-2000:1 ratio against perfection. Meaning for every 1-2 thousand shots I take I "might" get one that I am 100% satisfied with.

Hope that helps - Marko

Interesting, that's about my ratio. I shot 10,000 frames last year and I have probably about 8 to 12 (I've never actually counted these) with which I am very satisfied.

ahhhhh, but you see perfection in other's work? but ever critical of your own.
This is what I mean, always learning, always changing and ever critical of our own work.
I didn;t know that I was the only photographer with a ratio like that LOL, seems I take so many photo's but only a few are noteworthy.
glad I'm not the only one.
