Artistically Scientific Side of Things

Please allow me the opportunity to share about my experimental work.

As an artist, my work is about expressing a person’s character using impressions generated from photos and words and piecing them together to form a bigger picture.

Rather than on a per-picture basis, kindly consider my work through an overall point of view.

She's a cute one alright ... lovely big, blue eyes!

You'll find that when you post several photos for critique in a single thread, you will likely not get indepth critique on all, if any, of the photos. Much better to only put one or two photos in to a thread at a time.

I like the expressions you have captured. I like that green background too.

You'll notice you've managed to isolate Tania from the background in shot 3 ... that's a good move ... the photo is about her ...the background should be complimentary only unless it's actually part of the story/ intent of the photo.

I think you can work on your crops a bit more. Cropping only a small part of anything usually isn't too effective. The top of her head, the elbow in the other shot ... just looks like you missed as opposed to being creative.

Lighting is another area you can look at more closely. In several of these her skin looks right on the verge of being too hot (over-exposed) but in the last two she is under-exposed.

I had a quick look through your links of her as well ... some nice ideas in there. Keep it up!

hmm .. the problem is ... my work is much more on a macro scale than on individual photos =( please advise how i can more effectively display my work

Do you think theres any artistic merit in over-exposing and under-exposing a photo ?

Its just that i sometimes feel that they each photo feels different with each exposure, but then again, i am an overly emotional and sensitive person hahaha

However, I think, in order to present a high quality "macro scale" you have to work on improving the quality of the individual photos as they are part of the whole. As for presentation, I can only think of two effective ways to show multiple images in a reasonably digestible fashion. 1) Slideshow 2) Print the photos and arrange them on a wall. If you can reduce to 2, 3, or 4 than you can put them together in a panel such as a triptych - Triptych - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Triptych)

Thank you very much for your triptych idea =) its definitely worth exploring, it reminding me of those papyrus drawings when i was in egypt

Very interesting =) I have posted one of my photos there, many people have complained that it is underexposed but to me, the underexposed version has more feeling than the bland properly exposed one.

Then again, the picture lacks sharpness and that reflects upon my skills
