Hi members!

It's May already!

Anyone got suggestions for the regular assignment or the level 2 assignment?

What about silhouettes for regular assignment?

Feel fee to suggest other topics for both assignments and the suggestions with the most support will be this month's challenges.

Thx!

marko

How 'bout "Rule of Thirds"for level 2 assignment...or is that a bit more of a level one assignment?
The other thought was Creative bokeh.

I think ROT is a level one but love the idea of 'creative bokeh' for 2.

If we do go with "bokeh", heres a couple articles I found on how to and some examples:

Using bokeh actively in photographic composition (http://www.framedreality.com/using-bokeh-actively)

30 Examples of Creative & Beautiful Bokeh In Abstract Photography | PSD Collector | Design Development & Digital Photography (http://psdcollector.blogspot.com/2010/09/30-examples-of-creative-beautiful-bokeh.html)

Okay then everyone looks like rule of thirds is the regular assignment and creative bokeh (which basically means selective focus using a larger aperture to create out of focus zones) will be the level 2 assignment.

I'll make it so within an hour or so.

Thx!
Marko

Ok Everyone the suggestion posts are merged and regular assignment this month is the rule of thirds.
For those that may not know what that is both the shownotes and this podcast should clear it up The rule of thirds in photography – Photography podcast #23 | Photography podcast blog and forum - Photography.ca (http://www.photography.ca/blog/2007/07/16/the-rule-of-thirds-in-photography-photography-podcast-23/)

This diagram summarizes rule of thirds fairly well. The red dots are zones where focal points can be placed. The red dots with white are the "power zones" and focal points placed there generally have strong impact.

Ok then who will post first?

Very nice Iguanasan! Did you darken the surrounding of your focal flower?

Thanks, JonnyHotshoe. The scene was naturally dark (cloudy, with rain) but I did burn in the second flower a bit to highlight the main one.

And nice addition to the assignment! :)
