Can't believe I found this site only recently.

I'm a professional photographer, based in Barrie, Ontario. I work primarily in the commercial and corporate fields, but also do the usual portraits and some weddings. In my spare time I teach photography, PhotoShop and Lightroom and recently created a new website for such - www.PhotographyWorkshops.ca. My professional website can be found at www.mgphotography.com.

I've been a photographer for most of my life, but professionally for about 20 years. I'm a member of the Professional Photographers of Canada and recently received the Master of Photographic Arts award. I have also been Accredited by the Professional Photographers of Ontario for Portraiture, Wedding and Commercial photography and have had several images accepted into the Loan Collection.

But, I still consider myself a student of photography and always looking to learn more. I think my greatest satisfaction is when I'm teaching and watching as the 'light comes on' my student's faces when I've introduced them to something new about photography.

Hello Mike and welcome!

It's great to have a person of your experience helping out here on the forum.

I'm just north of you in Huntsville.

Haven't been here for a while but hopefully will find more time to contribute. As an update, I have moved my studio to Elmvale (still in Ontario), about 20 minutes north of Barrie. I now have a larger studio, but it's also a main-street location (albeit a much smaller town than Barrie) with a front Gallery area with the camera room and production area taking up the back. I've added an Epson 4900 and 9900 printer so now do all my printing in-house and have starting offering printing services to other photographers, amateur or otherwise. I still shoot mainly commercial and corporate stuff, but my family portrait business has also increased since moving to Elmvale. You can see photos of my new digs here (http://www.mgphotography.com/i/contact_us/location/).
