This time of year in New England is a real PITA for woodland photography. The mosquito count is very high this year due to the long, wet and relatively cold spring. Plus the ticks. In a little while the deer and horseflies will be out. Squashes my desire to go shoot, but I do get out now and again. Here's a rare stand of Atlantic White Cedar at the top of their range in North America.

And a couple from Purgatory Brook yesterday. The mountain laurel are everywhere and I'm still processing more images.

thanks girls. I brought 4 ticks home with me on my clothes the other day (didn't even get one good photo either) because I spaced doing a 'tick check' every so often out in the field. Bah. Still, I have one more mission in the woods that I have to accomplish - giant laurel or giant rhododendron blooms in the same general areas as the cedar swamp in shot one up there. Sigh. The things we do to ourselves.
