Actually there are really a lot more, in several pages, I just posted a mix here, so who is interested can have a look to the complete job with about hundreds of them:

Very cool stuff. It amazes me that one never seems to see those kinds of details on newer buildings. Not necessarily a gargoyle/angel thing but just the whole thought of adding interesting details like this.

The teeth on #4 gave me chills; nicely done. I love this kind of architectural detail, and like Iquanasan, I wish it was still being done.

If you check the links at the bottom you will see hundreds of them, the last one is carved in a wooden huge door, and have really a long story.

I really like this set! I too like shot 4 and since you are okay w/comments critiques...I'd up the contrast (by maybe 20%) and sharpness (30-40%) on the eyes.
The whole image could actually be contrast boosted imo - but especially the eyes. I'd want them as sharp or sharper than the teeth.

Another great series on a theme. I like your golden rule " Fill the frame" and you have done that well in these pictures.

Interesting stuff, I think 4 has to be my favourite as well.

Saw an interesting snippet about gargoyles on tv recently, I didn't know that gargoyles were the ones with water spouts coming out of their mouths (the root is the same as 'gargle'), and the purely decorative ones are grotesques.

Yes, probably you right, the image is quite too soft!

I didn't know that... actually many fountains also have them here in Turin.
