after 14 months on the market our house has sold.

and because life works like that they want the closing on July 27. So we are frantically working at being moved. Mind you, I am not complaining - I am so anxious to move onto the next phase of our life that I would have done it in a week. But I may be somewhat absent for the next few weeks. But I will be back, I promise :)

oh and you all are invited to the open house ;)

I too sold my condo (1 month on the market) last week and bought a new townhouse this week. Hopefully if all goes well, I will have a new home and 4 legged family member by the end of August!!

Congrats Bambi,

WOW this seems to be a forum wide phenomena, I just sold my house and bought a condo and my closing date for this house is August 30th and I take possession of my condo next friday leaving me 6 weeks to move. I lucked out and bought a 5 bedroom condo (until I found or I should say my wife found it) I had no idea there was such a thing as a 5 bedroom with three levels and two full living rooms which one will be used as my studio which is something I have been craving. It also comes with 3 full bathrooms. I can no longer do the work my house needs anymore so we found a great deal and I closed the condo with a 15 day closing as it was sitting empty. I know Casil just moved, yesterday I finalized everything. I am so glad I have the 6 weeks to move it will make my life so much easier. Nice to see everyone is making changes and improving their lives. And on top of the 5 bedrooms there are another two rooms we can use as bedrooms or game room or whatever. Still having most of my recording studio still in tact made the sale of my house easier than I thought and it sold over asking. I knew it was coming but waited until everything cleared, inspections done and I met with the lawyer yesterday and its a lock and load, woohooo. I doubt my kids will be leaving anytime soon one moved back and we sort of adopted a kid a few years ago, long story I won't bore you with.

WTG AL! :highfive: I had no Idea there was such a thing as a 5 bedroom Condo either...I think have townhouse envy as mine only has 3!
I had the contractor go through my place this weekend past and we are completely gutting the kitchen and bathroom, putting in new doors, flooring and much more. He has a month to get it done before I move in so it won't be so stressful this time with me living there like it was when we redid this place. I got such a great deal on it, I can afford to personalize it and really give it a good fix up before moving in.
I guess fora few of us the end of August will be moving day!

Great idea Casil, better to do the construction if at all possible before you move in.

And I missed the open house at bambies, I think we should all show up, lol.

Congrats bambi casil and A.L.!
My wife and I went though this just 2 months ago so we know what a stress reliever this is when property does get sold.

A very big congrat's go out to Bambi, Casil, A.L., and Marko. Looks like we started a trend here, and they say the housing market is dead. Looks like we are keeping it alive and well just with members of this board.
Best thing is, sounds like a lot of people here are getting exactly what they have dreamed of for a long time. this is the best news of all actually. Always love to hear good news in these trying times.

well I'm back! The move is almost complete- just a few odds and ends to be given to charity and stuff to take to the dump. Moving into a smaller house is an excellent way to get rid of the clutter in your life. You find out what's critical and get rid of the rest. I can't begin to describe the feeling of being out of town (and I lived in a small town). I love getting up and hearing the birds- there are dozens of swallows swooping around in the morning. overall the move went well but I did have to go and buy a new box spring for our bed- ours wouldn't go up the stairs!! The nice thing about living in a small community is you can go in to the furniture store, buy a split box spring and pick it up that same day
The first night in the house I went outside and saw this:

I took it as a good omen.
