While doing a much deserved long photo trip through the Kananaskis yesterday I thought I'd stop by the "Widow Maker" area of the river. There are some rapids there, and with any luck I'd find the odd kayaker or rafter going over those rapids. I chose a relatively "harmless" rapid to wait for someone coming by. The mosquitoes were happy I did that and they had at it (for one reason or another I forgot to put on the deet, since it was windy all day and they had not bothered me before). To make a long story short (too late, hahaha) there was a trio of kayakers coming my way, and I managed to shoot the first one approaching and going over the rapids.

Oopsie! That's gotta be cold! Cool set! Love the contrast of the yellow and red of the kayaker with the blue green and foaming white of the river. Nice crisp photos, Matt.

Nice series. As much as I would love to get to some of our rivers around here and get some, I'm more prone to be in the boat when I do get to one.

Thanks all ... good thing this D300s I acquired is able to shoot rapid frames. Not quite as fast as those freaking "Canons", but fast enough for me. Besides, it is like making love, them "Canons" are done much faster, those Nikons take their sweet time:evil2:

A very interesting set. I assume, of course, that he righted himself without harm. Those rocks looked awfully close!
