took this over summer when I went back to Taiwan. Wanted to capture the unique textures on those enormous ancient trees. Here's a few shots with the Sigma 30mm f1.4

Beautiful bokeh and colors. Nice tree texture. I want to touch this ancient tree after I saw your photos. I visited your website. I like your art.

Excellent textures, and colours. That looks like a really nice piece of glass. I will say that I'm not fond of the softly focused foregrounds however. Generally I find that it's best to have either a soft foreground or background, but not both, and most often the foreground should be sharp. As is, it takes a second for the eye to settle down on these images. I'd really like to see #3 with a little dodging in the bottom foreground to bring out the detail there.

Nice work, and good take!

Just my $00.02 worth - your mileage may vary.

Thanks, i agree with the DOF to be a little bit much on some of the photos :P and the dodging does seem like a good idea

Cheers :D

the 3rd shot is my favorite, as my eye has a better path to follow.
with the 1st two photos having blurred forgrounds, my eye goes straight to the centre which is in focus, then has no 'escape'...
nice texture & color. do you have any full tree versions to share? i love multi-cultural trees! :D
