Would love to know how you guys would crop this image, or maybe just leave it. This image has already been cropped once.

Thanks!

I like it the way it is, composition -wise, because I like to see some space in the image. There are some people who would probably crop a little (10%) from the top (sky) and bottom (dark region). But personally, I like a bit of open blue sky at the top. Good job!

One other question - what was your f stop? I can't quite tell the sharpness of your image (maybe it's from the compression).

In my night photos, I lose some clarity then the aperture is opened wide (< f4.2), and regain the clarity with I use something like f8 or f9. Some photographers (Harold Davis) will advise to use the widest arperture to avoid artifacts from light sources...

Don't mind the composition. There does seem to be a lack of sharpness (some of this could be from the compression/conversion. Just wondering if there might have been a bit of camera movement in the long exposure.

The dark (black) trees provide a nice frame but I would crop off most of it so the bottom of the image is in line with the lit part of the dock on the right (bottom 10% of the image and about 10% or so of the right side to put that well lit corner dock right in the corner. At least that's what I would do. I haven't spent much time shooting night images. To me though it leads your eye from the bottom right up along the dock/ship and out to the end of the wharf where all those lights are.
