You can try to sign up by going to http://plus.google.com/ but I'm pretty sure you still need an invite. PM me your email address and I'll invite you if you are interested.

Is this another photography blog sight? what are the benefits of using it?

It's a bit hard to describe but I'll try to describe it without using other sites/brands that people may not be familiar with.

If you join Google+ you have the ability to create circles of people (groups) to follow to see information that they may share. Their information may be comments, web pages, images, or video. These shared items can be commented on or re-shared to others within your circles. This seems to be an effort to create a much better online community. The more time you spend online, the more money Google makes.

People you follow do not have to follow you and vice versa. The more people in your circles the more content you see and the wider potential audience you have.

For those of you familiar with the concepts it's like a combination of Twitter's follow concept merged with the Facebook News Feed but done the Google way. I'm loving it so far and I am currently following almost 400 photographers.

If you can't sign up, send me your email either through PM or directly (eulothg@gmail.com) and I'll give you an invite if you are interested.

oh no! you guys, too. I've got other sites flocking to google and I've been really hemming and hawing since it seems to be just one more thing.
will it replace -
twitter
limited fb
rss feeds of blogs and photo streams
forums (this and others)
linked in

I'm online enough as it is and I feel weird about crossing the streams, you know?

Not sure what it replaces yet but the engagement is high if you connect to a lot of people.

It is just a social networking site similar to facebook but different enough it may bring some users who avoided facebook like myself. If I stick with it for any length of time it is doubtful with my track record and social media but it so far seems like the best one out there.

Well it has been almost a week and I am not sure what I was expecting but whatever it was this was not it. It seems to be nothing more than a bulletin board. Anyone else after some use of it finding it less than impressive. I was hoping I would like it as it seems social media at this particular time in the history of the internet is almost a must have. Well I will give it another few days and if I continue to see it as I do not I will be dropping out of Google+. THink I am one of those people that social media just is not for me.
