A few pictures I took in a local cemetery. Just testing out the 24-70 2.8 L lens I rented for the weekend.

Ooops thanks for spelling corrrection. 'Cemetery' is not a word I use very often. Some of these stones are very old. For example: the wall of stones in the third one dates back to the 1850's and 60's. The tall one in this picture is 1866.

I've never been able to photograph the obelisk-like ones well. Nice job with this one.
I do a lot of cemetery shooting so it's a word I use a lot.

My fave is number 3 too. I really like the wall of headstones. Very cool.

Nice set Asnow, and I also like the wall of stones shots, but really like the one with two cracked stones in foreground and wall in back. Very nice perspective.

On another note, how did you like, or not like, the lens?

You missed the one in the original post ... I got it ;)

I have this lens ... very nice lens. Heavy isn't it!!

I like the wall and light in the last shot.

Thanks everyone. Seems that everybody like the walls. Funny, when I took the pictures I wasn't sure that they would look that interesting.

As for the lens 24-70 f2.8, I came to two conclusions. The low end (24mm) seems to be just a touch narrow for my liking on a crop sensor camera. Fully open at f2.8 the lens (at least the one I rented) seemed to be quite soft.

Not in my experience. Mine is sharp throughout the 24 - 70 range. I did, however, also want wider so I got the 10-22mm lens later on which is not an L series.
