Nice photo Matt here are some tips.

good

-nice mood and mist
-exposure seems about right

nit

-photo seems soft (use a tripod and aperture set to f/11 with the self timer,
the sharpness results will amaze you)

-photo is a tad flat (turn up contrast one click in the camera or in post)

-bottom right corner rocks are distracting (crop out and when taking photos
look around your viewfinder for clutter in the corners)

Take care,

Dwayne Oakes

Love the mood mist and exposure.

I agree with Dwayne on most points but wanted to add that the focus was 'off' during exposure. Seems to me like the focus was on the leaves at the bottom right and it should (IMO) have been on the bridge.

I like this photo! It has several points of interest, BUT one compliments the other. good job!

Agree with the above points; I'm curious: Why a 10 second exposure at f36?

Where was this shot?

Thx for the comments so far. I agree with everyone that the dock is not focused enough, that is my fault.

Also the f36 was to create depth of field, i didn't know that an f11 was considered a high aperture, im very new to all of this. the camera was set to aperture priority mode which was why it was a 10 second exposure. I guess to have the same mist effect on the water it would be better to turn the iso down, lower the aperture to f11 and keep the long exposure?

I just went out and bought some books on exposure so im not going to be guessing so much anymore.

Im happy you like the picture though even if technically the camera was not set up properly. Your comments have been very helpful so far : )
