Yesterday afternoon, while riding my bike I discovered a new trail near home that wanders around the lake. I saw loads of birds.

This morning I returned with camera in hand and spent about an hour along a small stretch of the trail and got these ...

The Variegated Fairy Wren is one of many different, and brightly coloured wrens we see, including the Red-Backed Fairy Wren further below. They are very small (you could stuff about 4 of these in your mouth) and flit about quickly making them hell to photograph!

One of my 'Breaking Free' edits ...

The White-naped Honeyeater. Will need to go back and get a better shot of him.

The prettiest ones always drive you craziest. That trail looks like it's a great find. I think I like the red-backed fairy wren the best.
