Nasty toxins showing up in women and their unborn children and it would seem to be coming from Monsantos GMO corn. Well no problem, we'll just quit eating corn right? Unfortunately corn is the largest part of our diet. Cows, chickens, pigs and even fish are corn fed. I'll be a happy guy when the monster Monsanto is no more. If you study the history of the company you'll find they have produced some of the most highly toxic chemicals on earth and many of those chemicals have been banned.

Just watched "The Corporation", Netflix Canada - Unlimited TV Shows & Movies Online (http://ca.movies.netflix.com/WiMovie/The_Corporation/60034810), today. Wow! It's so much worse than I thought. I mean, I knew it was bad, but I never really realized just how bad it was.

Awesome film that Corporation, highly recommended. The actual legal use of the word corporation is imo, at the core of many of these problems.
A corporation is a legal entity just like a person, except for one important thing...it's NOT a person and has no soul or conscience and yet it can be controlled by one person or a group of people......the only fuel it runs on is profit.

Poisoning the planet with toxins and killing off plants and animals is not going to solve the problem either so the Monsanto solution is not exactly ideal.

The question becomes one of weight transfer...We have a billion overweight or obese people on the planet and a billion underfed starving people, how do we transfer the excess weight to those that need it and away from those that don't? As I see it, it's all about proper distribution of food. If Monsanto's game plan ever becomes altruistic as opposed to a profit driven drive to control the food supply, potentially they could offer a solution but the key is in motivation. As it is, they stand only to help depopulate the planet by fueling the already growing cancer epidemic currently plaguing the planet.

yup, but no one. No one will suggest breeding less. It's predictable as hell and really ironic. the worst thing a person can do for the environment is make another person.

Well maybe if someone wrote a nice letter to the Pope some of us could help curb population growth a tad. People are talking about cutting population growth David Rockefeller was one and he's been in the doghouse ever since

Interesting read found here:

Are We Breeding Ourselves to Extinction? | Environment | AlterNet (http://www.alternet.org/environment/130843/are_we_breeding_ourselves_to_extinction/)

The thing is...nature has a way of looking after overpopulation of a species naturally...plague or disease, predators or something similar. Take for example in the human world, polio, smallpox, bubonic plague, ebola etc. etc....the list goes on. But man in his intelligence and infinite wisdom, has found a way to eliminate nature's way to keep over-population at bay; via antibiotics, vaccines and the like. Since we are on top of the food chain, there really isn't much in the way of predators.
Maybe in the end, this Monsanto/GMO business that man has created will be man's ultimate undoing...that is we will create something that will end up being our own plague of its own .....just a thought.
Just an aside...working in a hospital, I see it every day...so many patients, at least one two on every unit I work in on a regular basis, are on isolation due to a culture swab taken from their nose. The swab says they are carrying some form of resistant bacteria...MRSA, VRSE, etc, etc. ...it is now believed 75% of the population carries some form of antibiotic resistant bacteria on themselves. It is believed these resistant strains we carry are due to the antibiotics given to chicken, beef, all meat product not organically produced.

I like the variables you introduce in the first part of that post Lisa because it's not a part of the equation I often dwell on. So many parts to the puzzle and we, like the toddlers we are, have bent them all so badly they don't fit anymore. Is there a way to fix it? Even if we did a full 360 I believe the effects of our presence will cause eco mayhem for many years yet and we are not going to do a 360 anytime soon! My outlandish bet is that sometime before the last human walks the earth we will have perfected artificial intelligence to the point that it can self replicate and maintain its own existence, the evolution from carbon based to silicon based life...Perhaps that was the whole point?. If not that, then everyone on earth better yell out "MAMA!" and hope she shows up.

I checked that a day or so before you posted is Jas, it was indeed a good article. Monsanto are nuts...They walk into a steel plant and yell about how they want their money back on the chickens they bought:laughing:

One day when the aliens come and colonize our planet to keep humans as slaves and pets, only then will we (richer people from 1st world countries) know how it feels to be totally helpless and dominated.
