Encountered this lonely tree in the middle of a canola field ...

This is the version with a 17-70mm lens, on 17mm wide angle:

Great find, Matt. I especially like the 300mm shot. :)

I like them both. We don't have anything like this in New England.

Hard to find interesting subjects like this in Nova Scotia too. A very nice shot of a cool subject. Is it just my eyes or do I detect some kind of halo around the tree in these shots. Perhaps you did some editing to bump up the contrast in the clouds?

Lovely scene - Shot 2 for me please.

I like both, but first is my favourite. Did you dodge the tree area, because I see a light hallo around that tree.

I think you read my mind on the foreground then Matt, here's my edit - straight crop ( could have left another 1/4-1/2 inch perhaps) with a hint of leveling and save to web. Makes for a fine pano imo.
If I had the original file I probably would have cropped a bit off the left but still kept the same width overall if that makes sense, but because I don't have it, had i made that crop, it would have looked too small compared to original.

I was liking the second one better, but now seeing that cropped pano, it is now my favourite.

Really likin' that pano shot. Especially befits the title so well now.

Yup, Marko did a great job. I have since reworked this image as well, in the original ... funny what happens when you use different white balances ...

Both are great, the 2nd is my favorite. But that pano look really gives the expanse a nice compliment. That needs to be my back yard though!
