My friend Jeff spotted these ladies and their beautiful webs the other day when we were doing a sunrise shoot. You wouldn't believe the contortions that went into getting this. I think it's an immature garden orb weaver. She was shy, but eventually came round.

Love the focus in this one ... from the almost surreal to the tack sharp spider, great composition, like it a lot!

thanks peeps. this shot was hard to do on a lot of levels, but I'm pretty happy with the result.

thanks guys. backlighting is one of the magical things about photography. I'm afraid I don't do enough with it.
