I bought a Sigma 30/1.4 recently to take photos of the family. It's a fun lens! Here's one of the little fella which makes me smile:

Eyes could be a bit sharper but aside from that, everything (light, colour, angle, comp, 'gesture') about the photo works for me and works for me well!

Do you think his head looks like it was pasted on? That's the one thing about this photo that bugs me a little :)

I used Color Efex Glamour Glow on this photo, as his skin was quite blotchy. It might have made the eyes look a bit softer. Also had to clone out loads of breadcrumbs from around his mouth, and some from his hair too

I like the expression of the kid a lot. But the image seems soft overall. Musta been wide open, with very shallow DoF??

bread crums might have also looked good

Yeah this was at f1.4 at approx the minimum focus distance. So DOF would have been about 1cm. I've also softened it a bit in PP with the glow. Thanks for the comments!

Anuj I have loads of pics of the kids covered in food debris, so it's nice to get the occasional one where they look sort of clean hehe.

This shows the short DOF nicely - a 1:1 crop of his eye:
